Robert Half Staff Accountant in Charleston, South Carolina
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the automotive industry. Located in Charleston, South Carolina, the role involves handling credit cards and banking activity. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the processing and management of customer credit applications
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve customer credit inquiries
• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action for delinquent payments
• Work closely with the Controller and report regularly on accounting activities
• Handle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
• Prepare and post journal entries as required
• Work both independently and within teams, ensuring high attention to detail in all tasks
• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various tasks
• Perform month-end close and bank reconciliations
• Maintain a high level of verbal and written communication skills. Requirements • Possessing comprehensive knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrating proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Having a solid understanding and experience with General Ledger
• Showing proficiency in creating and maintaining Journal Entries
• Exhibiting capability in conducting Month End Close procedures
• Possessing experience with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Having a background in the automotive industry would be beneficial
• Demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Showing a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Possessing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Having a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be advantageous.
