Robert Half Cost Accountant in CHARLOTTE, Michigan
Description Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. How you will make an impact
Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Help prepare general ledgers and assist in audits
Generate costs and cost saving ideas based on analysis
Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
Generate and complete internal cost audits
Implement standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants
Plan projects and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost
Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory
Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization Requirements - Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
High analytical and extremely detailed
Experience working with organizational accounting concepts
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
