Robert Half Assistant Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are in the search for a meticulous Assistant Controller to join our team in the bustling city of Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves a blend of core accounting functions and financial planning and analysis (FP& A), in a dynamic and evolving industry. The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health of our organization, through diligent oversight and management of our accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing budget processes to ensure financial sustainability and growth.

• Conducting financial planning and analysis to forecast financial trends and inform strategic decisions.

• Managing month-end close processes to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

• Utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel skills to organize, analyze, and present financial data.

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements.

• Coordinating with other departments to gather and interpret financial information.

• Ensuring compliance with accounting and financial regulations.

• Assisting with the development and implementation of accounting procedures and policies.

• Collaborating with external auditors as needed.

• Supporting leadership in making informed financial decisions. Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of budget processes.

• Required to have skills in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A).

• Expected to have experience in month-end close procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Should have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• The ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines is a must.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Controller or similar role is required.

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases is a plus.

• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations is required.

• High attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment is required.
