This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts Requirements - CPA/MBA preferred
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Command of month end closings
Solid understanding of QuickBooks
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
