Robert Half International Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description Robert Half has partnered with an expanding company who is searching for a Payroll Clerk to perform duties in order to support the day-to-day functions of the Payroll department in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The company is looking for a candidate to join their dynamic, fast-growing team who can effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's duties will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is a short-term contract / temporary employment role.

How you will make an impact

  • Compile a system of administering and distributing reports

  • Build and run custom reports

  • Gather data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Supply the organization with instructions/training regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

  • Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Contact employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system Requirements - Ability to easily learn new systems

  • Outstanding data entry skills

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Prior Payroll software experience preferred

  • Previous payroll experience

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

  • Expertise in Garnishments

  • Strong familiarity with Process Garnishments

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lawson

  • General familiarity with Lawson HRIS

  • Foundational knowledge in Correct Garnishment Calculations

  • Garnishments payroll experience desired

  • Adeptness in Automated Payroll

  • Garnishment Calculations experience
