Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties Requirements - 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
QuickBooks Enterprise experience preferred
Proven knowledge of Income Franchise
International Tax Compliance experience
International accounting experience
Deep understanding of International Tax Compliance
Financial reporting experience highly desired
