Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the logistics and supply chain sector, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role consists of overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, conducting thorough analyses, and providing strategic financial guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll

• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions

• Coordinate and complete annual audits, working with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial statements

• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support business planning

• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets

• Provide financial analysis and recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profitability improvement

• Mentor and train entry level accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall company objectives and projects. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as an Accountant

• Proven skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations are required

• Candidate must have a strong proficiency in using General Ledger systems

• Experience in Journal Entries is necessary

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Candidate should have experience in Month End Close procedures

• Experience with NetSuite is necessary

• Knowledge of Oracle is a requirement

• Candidates should have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is necessary

• CPA certification is preferred but not required

• Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial for this role

• Ability to multitask and meet set deadlines is required

• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards is a must.
