Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina
Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role involves supporting the Divisional Controller in the timely reporting of all monthly financial information and maintaining the financial integrity for all activities associated with the manufacturing facility. This role requires a firm understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), solid technology skills, and strong analytical abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Perform month-end close activities including preparing journal entries, expense allocations, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial reports and provide variance analysis.
• Prepare and validate supporting schedules for various regulatory reporting including sales and use tax returns, unclaimed property reports, etc.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Adhere to control measures and processes.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested to provide the team with actionable information.
• Support all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Ensure items are correctly classified and all items are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end and year-end close process, planning, reporting, and analysis of Standard Product Costing, Manufacturing Variances, Inventory, and its component parts.
• Manage and maintain fixed assets.
• Calculate inventory and other reserves.
• Assist external auditors and tax preparation teams as needed with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Provide analysis and interpretation of manufacturing data in relation to financial performance. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is essential
• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar financial software is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
