Description Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who's looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Experience with ERP systems
Strong familiarity with Commercial Insurance
Financial reporting experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
