Sr. Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina

Financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting will be among your duties as Senior Accountant. Major responsibilities

  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Command of Accounting Systems

  • QuickBooks experience desired

  • Must have excellent time management skills

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
