Robert Half Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role focuses on inventory and job costing, enabling accurate financial reporting and cost management. The Controller will oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, analyze job costs, and collaborate with teams to optimize profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of inventory accounting, including standard costing, valuations, transfers, reserves, and physical counts.

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls for inventory management.

• Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams to ensure accurate inventory data and cost allocation.

• Develop and maintain job costing systems, including cost allocation, variance analysis, and reporting.

• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and prepare reports for management review.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory and job costing activities.

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations and participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Ensure compliance and efficiency in all accounting activities.

• Potentially assist in the preparation of financial statements and other external reports. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Controller role or similar

• Proven proficiency in Inventory Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Cost Allocation is required

• Knowledge and experience in Job Cost and General Ledger management is necessary

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas

• Experience with Sage Accounting Software is essential

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred

• Must have legal rights to work in the country of employment without must be eligible to work in the U.S.
