Description If you are a Controller looking for work where you will have broad business engagement and impact, Robert Half's new position with a business in the Manufacturing field might be right for you! We need someone who can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. The Controller position is located in Houston, Texas and is on a short-term contract / temporary basis. Do you want work in a very dynamic and high profile area? Responsibilities

  • Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers

  • Perpetual reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as leading necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls

  • Collaborate with the Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts

  • Become knowledgeable in key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  • Review and monitor controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance

  • Comparison of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls

Direct budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and tools for all accountable programs

  • Recognize key financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners Requirements - ERP system knowledge required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

    • CPA and/or CMA preferred
  • Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers

  • Highly skilled in office and accounting computer systems

  • Practical knowledge of cost accounting

  • Wide ranging experience with Standard Cost Accounting

  • Deep understanding of Peachtree Sage

  • Solid understanding of SAP B1 - Business One

  • General familiarity with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  • SAP experience

  • Proven knowledge of US GAAP

  • GAAP Accounting experience highly desired

  • Quality experience with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  • Well-founded grasp of cost accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in Peachtree Accounting Software

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead change, and build process improvements

  • Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills

  • Background in virtual engagement with global teams around the world and being a leader across finance teams
