Description We are looking for a Controller in Charlottesville, Virginia. This role is in the accounting and financial analysis industry and involves managing the company's financial performance, preparing cash flow statements, managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, and coordinating with international subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in monitoring the company’s actual performance against the current budget and business plan
• Prepare cash flow statements and assess ongoing working capital metrics and liquidity needs
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Produce consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Coordinate directly with international subsidiary to ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements
• Ensure timely billing and invoicing of all revenue and proper accounting treatment as per the company policy on revenue recognition
• Monitor and maintain all subsidiary ledgers for customer activities and ensure timely collection
• Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial information for the executive staff and the Board of Directors
• Oversee all payroll and tax activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and filings
• Interface with external auditors and provide them with information and schedules
• Establish, monitor, and enforce adequate internal controls and processes to ensure effective control and reporting in accordance with company guidelines and US GAAP
• Work with COO on contracts management and workflow process related to various revenue streams
• Identify and lead initiatives to automate and streamline accounting operations
Skills required:
• Proficiency in accounting software systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and DCAA
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Proficiency in accounting functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with auditing and budget processes Requirements • Significant experience in the role of Controller, with at least 7 years in similar positions.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.
• Prior experience with ADP - Financial Services is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with DCAA regulations and requirements.
• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in Auditing is essential.
• Expertise in Budget Processes is required.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must possess problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications are considered a plus.
• Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
