Description Robert Half has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. The company offering this terrific short-term contract / contract / temporary to permanent opportunity is based in the Charlottesville, Virginia region and provides rewards for hard work. In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and playing an active role in compliance.
What you get to do every day
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Command of Pivot Table
EMR (Electronic Medical Records) experience
Strong familiarity with VLOOKUP
Adeptness in Reconcile Account
Solid understanding of Sage 100
Epic EMR experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
