Robert Half HR Generalist in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description We are seeking a HR Generalist to manage the daily HR functions and initiatives for our busy distribution warehouse located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role involves a variety of HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and HR administration. The HR Generalist will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting in the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and hiring for warehouse positions.

• Coordinate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.

• Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.

• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, and resolve employee issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

• Conduct investigations into employee complaints or incidents as needed.

• Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems.

• Support managers in conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.

• Identify training and development needs to improve employee performance.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

• Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.

• Prepare reports and documentation as required by management or regulatory bodies.

• Coordinate and facilitate training programs for warehouse staff.

• Support career development and succession planning initiatives.

• Promote continuous improvement through various training methods and strategies.

• Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.

• Maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and communicated effectively.

• Manage employee attendance and leave records. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role within the retail sector

• Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now

• Demonstrable experience with Benefit Functions

• Strong knowledge of Compliance within HR and retail industry

• Proven experience in managing Employee Relations

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

• High level of confidentiality and professionalism

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
