Robert Half Insurance Follow-Up Specialist in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description

We are offering an IMMEDIATE long-term contract employment opportunity for an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will contribute to the hospital billing process, handling medical collections, and conducting insurance follow-ups. You will also be responsible for managing customer accounts, working with Medicare and Medicaid, and utilizing communication skills through phone calls, emails, and messaging.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and process patient insurance claims and ensure accurate administration.

• Oversee medical collections, ensuring all outstanding debts are pursued and resolved.

• Follow up on insurance claims, liaising with insurance companies as necessary.

• Utilize various communication channels such as phone calls, emails, and messaging for follow-ups and inquiries.

• Maintain and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.

• Use industry-specific software for various billing and claim administration functions.

• Handle appeals and benefit functions related to insurance claims.

• Leverage your experience with Medicare and Medicaid in managing claims and customer accounts.

• Support the team in handling collection processes for the organization.

• Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with hospital billing procedures and standards.

Requirements

• Familiarity with appeals, benefit functions, billing functions, and claim administration is expected.

• Knowledge of collection processes, particularly within the healthcare sector, is required.

• Prior experience in a role related to insurance follow-up or similar is desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
