Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join a team in Chattanooga. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), managing petty cash, and performing basic reconciliations and journal entries. This role will also involve acting as a point of contact for internal business partners, ensuring accurate documentation and filing systems are maintained, and assisting with various administrative tasks related to financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Manage accounts receivable activities including invoicing and collections support.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments regarding financial inquiries and support.

  • Perform basic reconciliations for different entities and accounts.

  • Assist with basic journal entries and ensure proper documentation and coding.

  • Maintain petty cash fund and reconcile petty cash transactions.

  • Order office supplies and manage related expenses, ensuring proper budgeting and documentation.

  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and ensure quick access to necessary documentation.

  • Assist with bank deposits and reconciliation of bank statements.

  • Participate in maintenance efforts related to financial records and transactions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on AP and AR.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and accounting software.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.

  • Experience in maintaining filing systems and organizing documentation.
