Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist in the Hi Tech Engineering industry, located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. The role revolves around managing and processing accounts payable transactions, utilizing Oracle Fusion and Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) scanning for invoices.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Oracle Fusion to process and manage accounts payable transactions.

• Employ IDR scanning technology within Oracle Fusion to accurately capture invoice data and minimize manual entry errors.

• Verify invoice accuracy, matching purchase orders and receiving reports.

• Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.

• Schedule and process payments in accordance with company policies and vendor terms.

• Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices, aiming to take advantage of any available discounts.

• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

• Prepare and maintain reports and records as required.

• Communicate with vendors to address and resolve any issues related to payments, discrepancies, and inquiries.

• Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

• Assist in audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations for transactions as needed. Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Experience with Oracle financial software is essential

• Demonstrated ability to process invoices accurately

• Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles

• High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience in the Hi Tech Engineering industry is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
