Description

To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

    Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • KPI Reporting experience desired

  • General ledger experience

  • Month end closings experience preferred

  • Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
