Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Billing Clerk in the retail industry. The successful candidate will be based in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia, 23320-1604, United States. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. The individual will be responsible for various tasks including processing customer billing information, managing inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
Key responsibilities:
• Accurately input customer billing data into the system
• Oversee and manage the inbox to promptly respond to billing inquiries
• Ensure that invoices are correctly scanned and uploaded into the relevant customer profile
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook to manage and organize data
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on account status
• Maintain precise records of all customer credit applications
• Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist in the accurate maintenance of customer credit records
• Ensure that all customer applications are processed efficiently. Requirements • Proven experience as a Billing Clerk in the retail industry for at least 2 years
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
• Proficient in relevant computer software, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.
