Accounting Manager/ Controller opportunity with a FAMILY FIRST and GROWING Construction Company in the Cheshire area!!!

A successful organization that will recognize your efforts is working with Robert Half to find a talented Accounting Manager/ Controller. You will succeed in this position if you can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, handle job costing & prepare cost reports, assist with inventory, and other accounting tasks as needed. You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. This Accounting Manager/ Controller role is based in the Cheshire, Connecticut area and is a permanent employment opportunity that is not to be missed!

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, document preparation, and reconciliation processes

  • Periodically review and inspect the balance sheets and income statement accounts of Accountants

  • Possess a working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Drive and manage the accounting close process to meet close deadlines

  • Prepare various job costing reports

  • Prepare sales tax return, and work with outside CPA firm as needed

Requirements

  • Journal entries exper

  • Ledger Reconciliations experience

  • Month end closings experience

  • Bank reconciliations experience required

  • Financial statement preparation experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • 5+ years of accounting experience within construction, including WIP schedules, cost reports, and inventory

  • 7+ years of hands on accounting experience

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

  • Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation
