Robert Half Area Controller in Chester, Pennsylvania

Description

Candidates who would be excited to become part of a successful company will be interested in Robert Half's opportunity to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department as an Area Controller. The Area Controller will lead the finance/accounting activities, planning and analysis for a group of facilities in the region in accordance with the US generally accepted accounting (US GAAP) principles and internal policies and procedures as well as provide finance support to the facility managers / area asset managers. The permanent Area Controller position is situated in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with the facility/Regional management in achieving business objectives

  • Own the review and ensure timely reporting of financial statements for all facilities in his/her scope in the region is in compliance with company accounting policies, procedures and SOX/internal controls

  • Compile and analyze financial information necessary to complete the month-end accounting close including preparation, input, and validation of journal entries in coordination with the Shared Service Center

  • Perform operational statistical and metrics tracking, evaluate financial performance comparing actual results to plans while also making recommendations to obtain goals

  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative variances explanations including risk and accounting treatment assessment

    Requirements

The ideal Area Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA / MBA preferred.

Other requirements for the Area Controller position include and are not limited to:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience including manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP

  • Experience with Oracle and PeopleSoft is preferred, or with similar product(s) is required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments meeting strict deadlines with a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to identify and resolve complex finance and accounting issues in addition to frequent financial analysis and preparations
