The Senior Accountant furthers the company's goals through the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow, as well as the creation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of audits, and management of internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Superior analytical skills are crucial to this position. This full-time position includes solid compensation, good benefits, and the possibility to grow. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Manufacturing field and is located in South Suburbs of Illinois.
What you get to do every single day
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Requirements - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Skilled with ERP systems
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Must have excellent time management skills
Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Epicor experience required
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
