Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Chicago, Illinois
A fast-growing eCommerce company is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to help manage transactional activity. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Maintaining historical records
Paying employees by verifying expense reports and preparing pay checks
Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
Communicating internally and obtaining appropriate approvals
Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
Continuing to improve the payment process
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
2+ years of experience processing accounts payable
At least intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
Familiar with 3-way match processing
Profound attention to detail
Self-starter with strong problem-solving acumen
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Familiar with NetSuite a plus
