Robert Half Assistant Fund Controller in Chicago, Illinois

Specific job responsibilities:

  • Oversee service providers and third parties regarding all matters impacting the private funds, including fund administrators, operating partners, co-managers, tax preparers, valuation experts, internal auditors, and external auditors.

  • Spearhead an effort to create a unified investor experience for all private funds

  • Oversee private fund tax and REIT compliance

  • Coordinate regulatory filings and prepare loan covenant reporting

  • Schedule and prepare materials for recurring meetings with internal fund management team and investment committee for certain of the private funds

  • Review and manage valuation models and related reporting

  • Manage cash flow analyses and treasury functions including processing of accounts payable, funding of investments, and overseeing capital call and distribution activity

  • Prepare support for and coordinate with firm accounting and operation functions to ensure accurate reporting of firm revenue and investor fees

  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls over operational processes and financial reporting

  • Respond to or coordinate responses to client and advisor questions or requests

  • Prepare and review communications to private fund investors

    Requirements

Preferred Skills & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study

· Minimum of six years of relevant work experience

· Exposure to private investment vehicles (e.g., real estate, private equity, hedge fund)

· Keen attention to detail

· Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus

· Strong presentation and organization skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks regularly
