Description
Robert Half is looking for a full-time Attorney to join our client's thriving construction law practice based in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves working on complex commercial contract matters, mechanics liens, surety bonds, and insurance coverage matters that involve litigation, trials, appeals, arbitration, or mediation. Experience in construction law and legal research is essential, along with a law degree and a genuine interest in growing a national practice.
Responsibilities
Handle complex commercial contract matters and mechanics liens in the construction industry
Manage surety bonds and insurance coverage matters involving litigation, trials, appeals, arbitration, or mediation
Draft and negotiate Construction, Design, and Design-Build Agreements
Handle the investigation, management, and discovery of large collections of documents and data files and electronic discovery
Work on commercial construction litigation, delay and impact claims, mechanics lien claims, construction surety bond claims, negotiating and drafting of design and construction agreements, construction defect claims, and insurance coverage relative to construction claims
Represent design professionals in a variety of legal matters
Use legal research skills and a thorough understanding of construction law to provide sound advice and legal services to clients
Utilize trial experience and a technical background in design or construction to effectively represent clients in court
Handle depositions and pretrial experiences effectively and professionally
Work independently and collaboratively in a client-focused environment
Requirements
Must hold a valid Law Degree from a recognized institution
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Attorney/Lawyer
Demonstrated proficiency in Construction Law
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
