JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Talent Manager (TM) serves as an advocate for our people, advisor to our business and ambassador for our clients.

As an advocate to our people, the TM ensures our people’s voices are heard. The TM also helps to ensure they are having meaningful career experiences and drives value conversations allowing our people to see the value in the work they do and recognize the skills they are learning. The TM collaborates with HR, firm leadership, engagement managers, and the advisor team to help lead our peoples’ performances, development, and drive improved tenure of our people.

As an advisor to our business, the TM is empowered to be a key player in all staffing decisions for his/her respective geography and solution, and ensure forecast accuracy, and drive operational effectiveness of our teams. The TM understands the individual and client value proposition, seeks to advise and make the best staffing solutions for the business. As such, the TM plays a key role in our growth strategy.

As an ambassador for our clients, the TM seeks to provide the right skills to best serve our clients; driving client happiness by understanding their needs and providing matching talent and skills. The TM is also in a position to help our consultants and seniors understand their value in the big picture, and to celebrate in their successes.

Geography responsibilities

Advocate to our People

  • You will support the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory group within the Central Region Market Offices – Minneapolis, St. Louis, Ohio Valley, Lake Erie, and Kansas City

  • You will meet with each individual semi-annually to understand their skills, goals, concerns, and interests, which translates into staffing decisions and plans that help shape their career trajectory and profile

  • You will staff employees within the local markets and the broader region, based on knowledge of employee & client needs

  • You will read and act upon employee development feedback coming from performance evaluations, career checkpoints, and People Development Meetings (making client assignments will aid in their career growth)

  • You will work closely with each employee’s Advisor to find the ‘right’ assignments

  • You will check in with individuals staffed on a project long-term or without a project team

  • You will partner with Recruiting and HR when appropriate to support retention, and recruitment / selection processes

  • You will engage with employees during critical times in their career (leave, life event, career stressors, etc.)

Advisors to our Business

  • You will analyze large amounts of data to unearth issues & provide solutions (long-term unstaffed, lack of project diversity, loan staff, long-term staffing, holding resources for unsold work)

  • You will understand the importance of our financial forecast. You will keep track of all upcoming jobs and build strong relationships with engagement mangers to staff jobs. You will collaborate with leadership on long and short-term workforce deployment/utilization analysis initiatives.

  • You will ensure schedules are up-to-date in our scheduling system, while also preparing, reviewing and analyzing variance and exception reporting

  • You will screen front-end contractor requests, understanding cost implications and confirming local, regional and national resources are exhausted before a contractor option is sought.

  • You will run through negotiations and resolve conflicts within the TM team and at the highest levels of the organization.

Ambassadors for our Clients

  • You provide the RIGHT resource based on skills

  • You will build a deep understanding of the skillsets, certifications and experiences needed to deliver high quality solutions to our clients within Internal Audit and Financial Advisory.

  • You have a deep understanding of the client need for all jobs, driving detailed conversations with the Engagement Manager on type of work, value, timing, resource needs.

  • You will partner with account management leads to focus on strategic clients.

Overall responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the local geographies, to ensure optimal staffing is in place for employees. Employs the Hear, Near, Far scenario for all staffing decisions.

  • You will partner with the Market Lead on business preparation and forecasting. Leads Market based staffing calls. Provides reporting and analysis to assist the market teams with the best staffing decisions.

  • You will work across solutions and geographies to ensure the best staffing on strategic accounts. Brokers deals between solutions and geographies by swapping out resources to ensure the best demonstrate, skill fit, industry experience and employee interest.

  • You will report all issues to the Regional TM Lead and National TM Lead, as necessary.

  • You will partner with immigration contacts to ensure movement of talent to/from international locations for client engagements is in accordance with procedures and regulations.

  • You will partner closely with other internal operations teams to optimize the Talent Management process:

  • Finance to understand the financial implications of level movements (e.g. swapping a senior or a consultant) and to ensure optimal leverage models are in place at each client

  • HR on the performance process, people issues, and the exit process

  • Learning & Development on goal planning and training and HIPO development

  • Recruiting on the hiring forecast and timeline, as well as new employee feedback, skills, goals and development areas

  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), specifically data analysis in Excel.

Ability to travel

  • Travel throughout the year required based on requests and commitments (estimate 15%).
