Where We Need You:  

The Chicago office is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our growing team.

Managers partner with our clients to solve complex business problems and provide best in class advice and solutions.  Managers have a solid understanding of their client’s business and demonstrate technical competence in their solution and industry.  Managers can clearly articulate the value drivers of our  business, and  are responsible for developing opportunities both at existing clients and new clients.  Managers are responsible for job economics and for ensuring seamless project management.  Managers are developing future contacts within the business community and serve as ambassadors of Protiviti in the market.

    Do Your Talents Include the Following?   

  • Expert knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies related to Quality Assurance  

  • Expert knowledge in Quality Assurance design principles, testing tools, processes, and best practices  

  • Experience training, managing, and mentoring team members to ensure team efficiency and quality  

  • Experience scoping, estimating, and planning software development projects concerned with all aspects of the application development lifecycle  

  • Experience with client presentations and training sessions to effectively estimate solutions and communicate risks  

  • Expert skills in establishing methodologies, protocols, and driving standards into daily practice  

  • Prior management and direct supervisory experience with a history of mentoring  

  • Ability to operate independently as needed but also lead large teams  

  • Experience working in a results-oriented environment with the ability to meet deliverable deadlines  

  • Extensive experience in writing automated tests, preferably in Selenium  

  • Thorough knowledge and competence in creating and implementing Automation Frameworks  

  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming in .NET or Java  

  • Expertise with:  

  • Agile principles  

  • Behavior-Driven (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD) concepts and tools (such as Cucumber or  SpecFlow )  

  • Automated API testing tools and frameworks  

  • Mobile device testing (native and web)  

  • Performance testing and tools; Running/monitoring performance tests and the ability to interpret/report the results to the client and the team  

  • Continuous Integration concepts, design, implementations and tools   

  • Linux/Unix, setting up environments, managing code in Git or Azure DevOps (formerly TFS) repositories  

    Your Educational and Professional Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline ( e.g. MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree) required  

  • 5 + years of testing experience with strong emphasis on user-centric web application development technologies  

  • Experience working for a technology consulting firm or software product company is strongly preferred
