Then you have come to the right place.

Where We Need You:

The Risk & Compliance – Lender Due Diligence team is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing team in any of its primary US offices.

What You Can Expect:

Lender Due Diligence services help our clients to address key credit risks and concerns by performing reviews of the “target” company (our client’s customer) and the assets that are part of a lending transaction (collectively, the “deal”).

The candidate will work as part of an engagement team to perform an agreed-upon set of procedures (the “scope”), which will vary by deal, but typically covers the particular collateral being evaluated, as well as the target company’s processes, reporting capabilities and quality of data associated with those assets. The results of these services help our clients to recognize key areas of risk as our reports improve the understanding of their customer and the lending transaction’s underlying assets.

You can expect to work in a fast-paced deal-focused environment with a team that values both hard work as well as flexibility. Further, you can expect to work in a dynamic environment that does not “get old,” and you won’t feel “stuck” on a project for months. As you will be working on a different project most weeks, no two weeks are exactly alike. One week you may be working on a solar panel leasing client in Houston, while the next you’re working on a FinTech client in San Francisco, while the third week you are not traveling and working remotely on an auto loan originator. To this extent, there is no monotony in this role as you are constantly collaborating with new people, and facing new challenges in different industries and geographies.

These services are completed for both proposed (pre-loan) and existing lending facilities in the warehouse lending and asset securitization industry. Our work encounters a wide range of asset classes (auto loans, credit cards, equipment leases, student loans, trade AR, esoteric, etc.) and industries.

The Senior Consultant will coach Interns, Consultants, and facilitates the successful completion of the project work plan. Serving as both role model and trainer, the Senior Consultant demonstrates the attributes of excellent client service and assists team members in developing technical and professional competency. The Senior Consultant learns to identify areas of risk and opportunities to improve efficiencies. Relationships with client personnel and professional associates strengthen as the ability to communicate, gain trust and network improves. At the direction of managers, the Senior Consultant may accept responsibility for decision-making, ranging from staffing and preparation of deliverables to application of methodologies.

What Will Help You Be Successful:

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where you are being exposed to new clients, target companies, industries, business models and market trends.

  • You enjoy traveling to diverse locations in order to conduct engagements on-site at the target company. Significant portions of work are currently performed remotely from home or Protiviti offices.

  • You enjoy identifying areas of business risk, potential technical problems, and opportunities to improve the efficiency and profitability of the client’s overall business processes.

  • You are passionate about evaluating, synthesizing, organizing and interpreting data and information.

  • You create a positive work environment that fosters open communication among all engagement team members.

  • You effectively build relationships with your clients and provide them with timely top-quality service.

  • You have an inherent interest in project management and team leadership. You seek new ways to create extraordinary development opportunities and ways for your team to make an impact on our clients and communities.

Do Your Talents Include the Following?

  • Strong auditing experience in the areas of credit risk and the related processes, controls, and reporting for different asset classes. Prior lender due diligence experience, especially for securitization conduit and/or warehouse facilities, is a plus.

  • Prior securitization/structured finance experience in any of the various asset classes (ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLO) with ABS or CLO experience being the most preferred.

  • General financial accounting background and experience. Specific knowledge of receivables (loans, trade, etc.) accounting and transaction processing is a plus.

  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, client service focused, consultative work environment and contribute to the engagement team’s success.

  • Strong written communication skills, including preparation of work papers / formal report writing with sufficient attention to detail (quality focus).

  • Strong analytic and project management skills; ability to efficiently execute a preset scope (work program) and experience working under a time budget to achieve reporting deadlines.

  • Strong verbal communication and people skills; ability to interview personnel at multiple organizational levels and communicate effectively within the engagement team.

  • Ability to learn and deploy Protiviti lender due diligence methodology and adhere to related frameworks, standards, templates, etc.

  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, mainly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to be “on call” for assignment and rapidly deployed to the target company’s location as client engagements dictate.

Your Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in relevant academic area.

  • 3+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, or related field, either in professional services or industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.

  • Professional Certification such as CPA, CIA, FRM or similar strongly preferred.
