Job Description

• Manage and review the accounting for assigned entities including reviewing journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations

• Interpret governing documents (e.g. operating agreements and by-laws) and apply the provisions of the governing documents to the management and accounting for an entity

• Coordinate with outside parties (i.e. investment advisors) and trustees (i.e. private trust companies) in the execution of responsibilities associated with management of assigned entities

• Provide day-to-day business and accounting management to certain service provider entities such as budget and projection preparation, quarterly billing, processing reimbursable expenses, etc…

• Oversee and manage the tax projection and tax return processes for assigned entities (partnerships and corporations)

• Mentor, train and manage staff accountants to meet deadlines and prioritize projects/workload

• Identify and develop improvements to internal processes

• Lead and manage special projects, as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in accounting and financial management

• Relevant undergraduate degree and CPA required

• Demonstrated management, leadership and mentoring skills plus high intellectual capacity and professional integrity

• Experience or familiarity with corporation and partnership tax concepts and application thereof, desired

• Ability to operate in a highly confidential and complex environment as part of a team, but also independently

• Highly proactive approach to serving clients; fiduciary mindset; prior experience working with a family office and/or with an entrepreneurial family business owner/enterprise highly desirable

• Effective at working in a professional, small office, yet faced-paced environment; strong interpersonal skills

• Proven track record in managing multiple projects, strong problem solving skills and solution-focused perspective

• Highly organized, proactive and attentive to detail and accuracy; strong analytical capabilities; ability to effectively prioritize workload

• Hands-on approach and willing to “roll up your sleeves” to effectively complete work

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively communicate complex concepts and strategies in a clear and concise manner; active listener

• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) software skills
