Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Chicago, Illinois
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. As a key member of our team, you will be working in a fast-paced industry, utilizing your skills and experience in accounting software systems, and financial services. Your responsibilities will revolve around payroll processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close operations.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll efficiently and accurately, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and filed
• Utilize accounting software systems to manage and maintain accurate records
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and correctly posted
• Perform reconciliations of various accounts, identifying any discrepancies and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately reported
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now and other relevant software to manage payroll and related processes
• Oversee 401k - RRSP Administration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures
• Execute various accounting functions as required, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed in a timely manner
• Conduct regular auditing of financial data, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies or errors. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledgeable in ADP - Financial Services
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with Ceridian and Costpoint systems
• Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Comfortable with About Time software
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Auditing skills and experience
