Responsibilities:

• Pricing - Manage lease pricing recommendations for new and existing railcars, portfolio sales and acquisitions. Utilize existing pricing models, lease pricing software and development of ad hoc pricing analysis. Monitor fleet utilization, lease expirations and pricing strategy effectively. – 25%

• Remarketing - Work closely with sales, credit and operations teams to manage assignment opportunities, deal flow and execution – 25%

• Capex Investment - Provide economic analysis and asset rationale for evaluating investment and divestiture opportunities. Make investment recommendations and develop programs to optimize portfolio size, diversification, and composition in line with portfolio strategy – 10%

• Secondary Market – Evaluate Secondary Market opportunities for both purchase and sale. Support portfolio offering process and evaluate leases for sale and purchase. -10%

• Strategic Planning & Reporting - Assist in the development and execution of a strategic plan for the assigned railcar portfolio(s) and communicate with internal stakeholders. Ability to budget, forecast and develop required monthly portfolio reporting – 20%

• Market Analysis - Proactively follow key commodities, industry trends and regulatory changes that impact SMBC Rail’s fleet and customers. Stay current on key industry issues impacting rail transportation. Perform customer and industry research including managing external data sources to gain market intelligence – 5%

• Industry Knowledge - Actively participate in selected trade group activities and attend relevant seminars and conferences and share with internal stakeholders – 5%

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). - 25%

• Outstanding analytic skills including data analysis, problem solving and pricing – 25%

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products; PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, etc - 25%

• Ability to present internally and externally and multi-task - 20%

• Ability to travel moderately to attend conferences and/or events – 5%

Prefer candidate with five or more years relevant experience in leasing, portfolio management or finance
