Robert Half Procure to Pay Manager in Chicago, Illinois

The Procure to Pay (P2P) Manager is accountable for identifying and deploying programs to optimize, improve, and mature the P2P processes driving innovation, service quality, and enhanced customer experience.


  • Direct high performance team in accounts payable, treasury support, procurement services.

  • Set priorities for the team including specific goals and performance targets. Leverage team strengths to improve, discount capture and other working capital levers.

  • Drive efficiency gains and ensure the high quality of customer service and risk management. Initiate and implement business plans to enhance processes and support growth objectives.

  • Document end to end process flows to identify key areas of improvement

  • Track team performance including invoice processing, purchase order creation, expense auditing, and payment processing

  • Ensure effective line item management for a diverse vendor portfolio including domestic and international companies across a wide array of industries

  • Prepare effective presentations and deliver timely updates to upper management

  • Calculate and monitor KPI performance and publish results to compare across regional sites and captive centers

  • Monitor goods received not invoiced including reporting, communication, and escalation of aged balances

  • Develop and achieve strategic business objectives

  • Develop materials and provide periodic training with other departments to outline procure to pay processes

  • Schedule visits to meet with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate on various projects to promote long-term performance and expansion of services in end to end processes


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree or international equivalent

  • A minimum of 5 years related experience leading people in procure to pay activities

  • Ability to meet deadlines for multiple stakeholders

  • Problem solving & change management skills

  • SOX/internal controls knowledge
