Responsibilities

  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement for assigned portfolio of properties

  • Analyze, document and record transactions in the Company's general ledger

  • Prepare and maintain supporting work-papers as specified

  • Provide detailed explanation of all balance sheet and income statement variances

  • Calculate tenant CAM charges in accordance with lease terms

  • Work with internal and external business partners (e.g. Property Management, the Company's financial reporting team)

  • Document and record ownership-level transactions/adjustments impacting assigned portfolio of properties based on relevant legal documents (e.g. debt agreements, purchase and sales contracts and joint venture agreements).

  • Keep abreast of the Company’s external accounting/reporting (e.g. reading the company’s Form 10-Q and Supplemental to gain understanding of how transactions were disclosed)

  • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting /Business

  • CPA candidate, a plus

  • Demonstrated experience preparing work-papers supporting accrual-based general ledger information and documentation in response to audit inquiries

  • Deadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skills

  • Strong written/oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Intermediate level Excel skills

  • Experience with an ERP general ledger

  • Accounting experience within the real estate industry, preferred

  • 2 years experience in related field

  • Real estate accounting preferred
