Robert Half Proposal Writer in Chicago, Illinois
Description We are seeking a Proposal Writer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. Working in the construction industry, your role will center around crafting comprehensive proposals in response to client requests, maintaining a database of templates, and managing a variety of other tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
• Formulate, proofread, revise, and compile proposal documents in response to RFPs and other leads
• Draft professional correspondences under direction from various team members
• Familiarize yourself with documentation associated with construction projects in Chicago and adjacent suburbs
• Collaborate with the internal team on creating documentation and presentations for various projects and services
• Interact with clients regarding proposals as necessary
• Manage projects, setting deadlines for information collection, drafting, review, and approval of proposals
• Maintain quality standards by creating new documents, using existing templates, and following writing standards to ensure readability, consistency, and tone
• Keep the proposal template database updated and organized
• Track proposals during the drafting process to ensure all bids are delivered and no proposal is overlooked
• Write annual/biannual maintenance proposals for properties requiring maintenance
• Log maintenance proposals for maintenance tracking
• Continually improve processes, approach, coordination, and template evaluation
• Handle miscellaneous office tasks including reception, filing, and other clerical duties as needed
• Manage work and multitask for timely assignment completion
• Handle complex projects with broad direction and minimal guidance Requirements
• Possess proficiency in 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and Cisco Webex Meetings.
• Experience with CRM and Data Mining Techniques is essential.
• Knowledge of About Time, Budget Processes, and Business Development is required.
• Strong Communication and Compliance skills are necessary.
• Familiarity with Administrative Office tasks, including Copying, is necessary.
• Proven record as a Proposal Writer.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field is desirable.
• Experience in a similar role is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent time management skills and the capacity to prioritize tasks.
