Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our operations team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate is professionally adept with general ledger functions, has a keen eye for detail, possesses excellent problem-solving skills and has a deep knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
Responsibilities:
Preparing financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
Ensuring timely and accurate month-end close and all monthly financial and management reporting.
Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities and variance analysis.
Coordinating and directing the preparation of financial budgets and report variances.
Handling tax and regulatory filings for the company.
Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Assisting in the establishment and implementation of both short-term and long-term accounting strategies.
Communicating effectively with internal departments and external partners.
Researching and resolving accounting errors.
Assisting with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, and other federal and state financial regulations.
Proven experience with financial accounting systems and advanced proficiency in MS Office.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and navigational skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Must be detail-oriented with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
