Robert Half Software Engineer in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. As part of our team, you will be instrumental in developing applications, optimizing database systems, and ensuring high performance and security standards are met. You will have the opportunity to work closely with architects, project managers, business systems analysts, and business partners, utilizing a range of tools including SSMS, SSIS, T-SQL, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, Git, and GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with architects and engineers to develop software solutions in line with industry and company-specific best practices.

• Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries to improve database performance.

• Document solutions in a manner consistent with internal best practices.

• Collaborate with business partners and IT team members to understand business needs.

• Build and maintain application projects using Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code with Azure DevOps and Github.

• Continuously learn and efficiently adapt to new technology stacks.

• Develop a deep understanding and solid execution of end-to-end programming and writing APIs.

• Understand and apply programming principles as well as database design.

• Collaborate with business partners to gather needs systematically, review viable solutions, test new functionality, and track post-implementation results.

• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements for the development staff.

• Deliver clear communication to coordinate efforts between business partners and IT, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of a Software Engineer.

• Proficiency in C Sharp Programming (C#) is required.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and React.js is essential.

• Experience with T-SQL - Transact-SQL is necessary.

• The candidate must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of React.

• The candidate should have a proven ability to work well in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• The candidate should have a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.

• The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of modern development tools and workflows is expected.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred.

• The candidate should have an ability to learn new technologies quickly.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
