GENERAL FUNCTIONS + RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance Department for their designated restaurant entities, including accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, payroll, taxes, budgeting & forecasting, prepaids & accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, debt, and equity
Prepare and analyze monthly, QTD, and YTD financial statements and reports including, but not limited to, balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, budget-to-actual variance analyses, and calculation of key performance indicators
Responsible for treasury management, including the maintenance and reconciliation of restaurant-level and corporate bank accounts, safes, and cash forecasting
Collaborate and meet with restaurant and corporate Management every period to discuss financial performance against operating metrics, budgets, and goals
Timely filing and payment of State and Local tax obligations, and support preparation of annual tax documents by providing required information to external tax accountants
Provide financial analyses as needed, including but not limited to, capital planning, pricing decisions, COGS, labor patterns, inventory variances, and vendor contracts
Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
Perform special projects as required to assist the Department and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in accounting
Multi-unit restaurant/hospitality or retail accounting experience strongly preferred
Excellent computer skills, and advanced proficiency with accounting and reporting systems and tools such as QuickBooks, MS Excel, and Compeat
Working knowledge of financial statements and budgets/forecasts
Effective verbal and written communication skills with a broad range of audiences including executive leadership team and restaurant operators
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving processes
Attention to detail, and a dedication to providing a high-quality work product
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, follow through on issues promptly, and meet reasonable routine deadlines
Exercise professional skepticism regarding transactional data
Systems implementation experience preferred, but not required
Ability to be resourceful and independent in solving problems
Manage confidential information with a high degree of integrity
