Description
Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant for a great permanent opportunity. Working as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant opening is located in the Chicago, Illinois area and will offer you great experience, strong compensation, and an attractive benefits package. Major responsibilities
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc projects as required
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Requirements
Requirements
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
A candidate with financial reporting systems proficiency will be the best fit for this position
ERP system experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Minimum 5 years of overall general accounting experience
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis experience
Knowledge of Public Accounting
