Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract to hire employment opportunity in our Chicago, Illinois office. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for month-end closing processes, financial reconciliations, overseeing payroll, and utilizing financial software. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Conduct thorough and accurate reconciliations of all financial accounts
• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions
• Utilize financial software, such as Blackbaud's Financial Edge and ADP Workforce Now, to streamline financial operations
• Ensure accurate journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling
• Manage account balances and bank reconciliations
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries related to financial matters
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information and adhere to all financial compliance regulations. Requirements • Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience as an Accountant
• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Adequate knowledge and experience in Bank Reconciliations
• Ability to manage and maintain General Ledger
• Must be skilled in creating and managing Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now software is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
• Certification such as CPA is preferred but not necessary
• Must adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements.
