Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves handling complex accounting activities, producing detailed financial statements, and providing financial analysis to guide business decisions. The Sr. Accountant will work closely with our finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Handle bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end close processes.
• Utilize various software tools including NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to support accounting operations.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Participate in audits, assist with budget preparation, and manage tax filings.
• Identify areas for process improvement in the accounting workflow.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and relevant financial legislation. Requirements • Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations
• Solid understanding of General Ledger management
• Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries
• Demonstrable competency in Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting purposes
• Familiarity with Oracle as an accounting tool
• Experience in using SAP for accounting and financial management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
