Job Description:

The role of Senior Project Accountant is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, variances and compiling construction draws and ensuring billings are recorded in a timely manner. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and reconcile bank, loan and project accounts

  • Work with Construction Draw accountants on project draws

  • Prepare accounting, financial and statistical statements and reports

  • Participate in quarterly forecasting process

  • Collaborate with development teams, report and manage on project status at all phases

  • Review and maintain established accounting practices and procedures

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for internal and external purposes

  • Prepare wire and ACH payment requests from Accounts Payable

  • Communication with external auditors and vendors as required

    Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

  • Real Estate background preferred

  • 3+ years of accounting experience

  • Strong PC skills to include Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager is preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting methods

  • Effective professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to focus on details and perform functions with accuracy

  • Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
