Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry in CHICAGO, Illinois. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the company's accounts receivable across multiple locations, providing an opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the accounts receivable process across three distinct locations.

• Leverage your proficiency in Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data.

• Engage with customers to address and resolve inquiries related to their accounts.

• Ensure the accuracy and efficiency in processing customer credit applications.

• Maintain meticulous records of customer credits.

• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate action as required.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP to assist in the management of accounts.

• Collaborate with other team members to promote a cohesive and productive work environment.

• Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to advance your career within the organization. Requirements • Possess a minimum of three years of experience in the field of accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in using Sage 100 accounting software is required.

• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets, use advanced formulas, and generate reports.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of general ledger functions and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Accuracy and attention to detail when handling high volumes of information.

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to accounting and finance.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data and create financial reports.

• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently when needed.

• CPA certification is considered a plus.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
