Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will oversee IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring the availability, stability, performance, and scalability of our IT infrastructure supporting critical business applications. This role involves strategic planning, project management, vendor and contract management, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of Linux, Windows, and Storage platforms to ensure availability and reliability.

• Manage IT infrastructure and operations projects to ensure they meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.

• Lead a team of Linux, Windows, and Storage IT professionals, providing guidance on projects and technical skill development.

• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual efforts for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

• Lead security and compliance initiatives on Linux, Windows, and storage platforms.

• Manage Backup and Recovery infrastructure, schedules, and processes.

• Collaborate on roadmap for continuous improvement with respect to Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity.

• Conduct post-incident root cause analysis and lessons learned.

• Stay abreast of current and emerging IT trends to drive innovation and develop technology roadmaps.

• Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert on Linux, Windows, and Storage platforms to business stakeholders.

• Collaborate across Operations and Development teams to manage datacenter operations, including vendor management, day-to-day operations, and the development and execution of data center best practices.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of Systems Engineering

• Proficiency in VMware is required

• Experience with Ansible is a must

• Server Administration skills are necessary

• Familiarity with Red Hat is needed

• Proficiency in Linux is essential

• Manufacturing industry experience is preferred

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize tasks

• Proven history of successful project management

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred
