Robert Half Tax Analyst - BSC (Hybrid) in Chicago, Illinois
Description We are seeking a Tax Analyst for our team located in Chicago, Illinois. This role is central to our company's operations, involving a wide range of responsibilities such as accounting, compliance, forecasting, and regulatory reporting. The Tax Analyst will also be expected to perform technical analysis, including research and drafting documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process and document customer credit applications
• Maintain precise customer credit records and monitor customer accounts
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner
• Prepare and document supporting calculations and tax accounting positions
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of both income taxes and taxes other than income taxes
• Prepare federal and state income tax calculations, income tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments
• Respond to notices from taxing authorities and research and document income tax positions
• Prepare projected income tax and obligations as well as scenario modeling as part of the financial tax forecasting process
• Prepare rate case filings, regulatory deliverables, and responses to regulatory data requests as part of the regulatory filing process
• Conduct independent research on various complex tax issues to determine the appropriate tax treatment and related reporting
• Identify, drive, and implement process improvements that promote risk management, streamline activities, and enhance transparency in tax work streams
• Lead special projects and assist in project planning initiatives. Requirements • Must possess strong customer service skills
• Proficiency in documentation and reporting is required
• Must have a solid understanding of compliance regulations
• Research abilities, especially in the context of tax accounting, is essential
• Familiarity with 'About Time' and 'Workstation Support' software or similar tools
• Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and implementation
• Experience in tax accounting and forecasting is necessary
• Proficiency in filing and other administrative duties
• Willingness to travel as required by the role
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement and research analysis
• Experience in compensation administration
• Understanding of risk management principles
• Ability to streamline processes and lead special projects
• Experience in creating and managing deliverables
• Skills in forecasting & modeling
• Familiarity with legal notices and project planning
• Must be open to a hybrid working model.
