Job Description
This role oversees the accounting and tax functions for the Family Office. Your responsibilities will encompass directing a team of accounting professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive services to their clients. This includes overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, conducting periodic financial analysis, and accurate preparation of financial accounting data for multiple entities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and key financial metrics to provide insights into financial performance for multiple entities.
Reviews monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and proper recording of transactions and accruals.
Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and training.
Manage complete lifecycle for accounting for income taxes including annual, quarterly, and forecasted tax rate computations, completing return to provision analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet tax accounts.
Provide oversight and review of other accounting areas, including Accounts Payable (and T& E), Payroll, Taxes and Revenue operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and controls.
Understand complex partnership tax structures and transactions.
Research tax issues, understand implications of investment decisions, and communicate conclusions to senior management.
Assist with the tax accounting implications of significant transactions, tax planning projects and pending legislation.
Coordinate and complete compliance work, including preparing and timely filing of tax returns for partnerships and overseeing timely payment of all tax installments and/or filing of requests for filing/payment extensions.
Create and document the process for quarterly estimates and filings.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master’s degree preferred
CPA
8-10+ years work experience in US Tax and/or Accounting & Family Office, Big 4 experience a plus
