Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager in Chico, California. The role focuses on managing and developing a high-performing accounting team within an amazing organization, ensuring the smooth run of accounts payable and related financial operations. This role will involve a mixture of remote and office-based work as well as a great compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a team responsible for the Accounts Payable process, providing support, training, and ensuring detail-oriented development.
• Manage the receipt and timely processing of payable transactions to the general ledger, including vendor invoices, prepayments, employee reimbursements, and student financial aid payments.
• Oversee the vendor onboarding process, establishing clear guidelines and maintaining a consistent database.
• Communicate and collaborate with other accounting managers and key stakeholders to optimize the accounts payable function.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory filings, including audit documentation and 1099 preparation.
• Contribute to updating policies, procedures, and identifying opportunities for continuous process improvements within the Accounts Payable function.
• Manage the Accounts Payable month-end close activities, prepare journal entries, and produce year-end financial reports.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicator reports and ensure accurate recordkeeping and financial controls.
• Develop specialized accounting reports and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements • Proficient in Account Coding procedures and practices
• Expertise in using Accounting Software Systems
• Ability to process and interpret complex data
• Comprehensive understanding of various Accounting Functions
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting principles and techniques
• Experience in Auditing, with a focus on financial audits
• Strong Leadership Skills, with a track record of managing and motivating teams
