Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and versatile HR Generalist to join our team at a local Healthcare Nonprofit Organization. The HR Generalist will play a key role in managing various HR functions and supporting our mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Manage the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers.

  • Conduct onboarding for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the organization and adherence to all onboarding procedures.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing support and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist in managing employee performance reviews, feedback, and conflict resolution.

Compliance and Policy Management:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including those specific to the healthcare and nonprofit sectors.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and updating HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, and address related inquiries.

  • Assist in compensation management, including salary benchmarking, and performance-related pay adjustments.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinate and facilitate employee training programs and professional development opportunities.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of training materials and development plans.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Prepare and process HR documents, reports, and correspondence.

Safety and Wellness:

  • Support workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.

  • Promote employee wellness programs and initiatives to enhance overall well-being.

General Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department and assist with various HR projects as needed.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with the organization's values and mission.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role, preferably within a healthcare or nonprofit organization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Experience with HR software and databases is a plus.

  • Knowledge of healthcare-specific regulations and practices is advantageous.
