We are offering a unique opportunity in the healthcare industry for a Denials Specialist located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role involves reviewing and managing billing processes for a healthcare facility, with a focus on claim denials and appeals. The employment type for this role is temporary.

Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly review and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure accuracy of all billings on a weekly basis

• Take necessary steps to understand claim denials and initiate proper resolution processes

• Utilize payer websites and dedicated call centers for claim status checks and reviews

• Contact insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments as necessary

• Review all accounts for insurance or patient follow-up to ensure all details are up-to-date and accurate

• Follow up on claim denials in a timely manner, taking appropriate actions to resolve claims

• Check claims submitted for accuracy and submit corrected claims as needed

• Update demographic and insurance information in the billing system as required

• Provide feedback on payer trends and issues prohibiting proper payments to the Director

• Maintain clear and concise notes on each claim worked, noting all steps taken.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Denials Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficiency in handling appeals and claim administration

• Experience in working with medical claims and medical denials

• Ability to write effective appeal letters for medical appeals

• Strong understanding of medical denial management

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for claims management

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
