Robert Half Patient Service Representative in Cincinnati, Ohio
Description We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to join our team in the Healthcare/NHS industry, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for pre-registration, financial clearance functions, validation of patient demographic and insurance information, and scheduling patients. You will also handle customer inquiries and maintain accurate records in the practice management system.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the pre-registration and financial clearance functions prior to patient's arrival for service.
• Validate patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
• Obtain pre-certification/authorization as required to avoid service disruptions.
• Schedule patients effectively, ensuring their convenience and service efficiency.
• Enter all necessary patient information into the practice management system for record-keeping.
• Handle customer inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records for future reference.
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Employ customer service skills to enhance patient experience and satisfaction. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service, ideally within the healthcare industry
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures
• Proficient in using healthcare software and electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to handle patient queries and complaints effectively and professionally
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in record keeping and appointment scheduling
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the guidelines set by HIPAA
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the role
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in healthcare administration will be considered a plus.
